3. I just stopped there on Easter Sunday on a cross-country drive....
I got chills seeing the Galleria tower west of downtown where a buddy of mine was stuck (he was there already on business...working on cell towers) He could see the people stranded on the interstate overpass (where one of the Faux News heads...Geraldo or Smith...had an awakening - albeit short-lived).

We drove past the Superdome and my eyes started filling with tears remember the suffering of tens of thousands there and how that ignorant prick Chertoff had NO FUCKING CLUE anyone was stranded there for several days until he was told in an interview on NPR the Thursday after the storm.

We stayed in the French Quarter which wasn't affected by the flooding and it was quite crowded....like nothing had ever happened.

We drove west the next morning through the Garden District and the huge mansions were still there and lots of trees. Loyola and Tulane areas were busy. It was almost as if nothing had happened.

Didn't make it through the 9th Ward, though...not sure I could have handled that.
