Their main purpose seems to be 'pay no taxes' and 'hold on to what I say is my property'. They are also frequently white supremacist and wanting fundamentalist Christian morality imposed on everyone too, but the last thing they want is a legal system with 'experts' in, like Sharia. They love the idea of a jury, which to them is 'twelve people who agree with me'.

I think their ideal society was Anglo-Saxon England in the the periods when no particular king was strong. A pre-Hobbesian "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short" existence.
