so the red tape nightmare doesn't even begin for me.... and those like me. We are outcasts everywhere..... and we would work in a heartbeat, if we could!

You are so right about the younger people who don't understand the REASON for those taxes! That is what is so scary! They can turn your system inside out in a short time.... and the threat is always there as long as there are people who don't get why it is structured that way, and how it protects them. And, NOT just as "insurance" in case the sky falls on them--it is important for them to remember that they live in a relatively Safe society, because when people fall on hard time, they KNOW there is a safety net to catch them. When people don't have that, there is the spread of disease because of those who can't get treatment, and eventually, the lack of hope breeds crime, etc.

Its not about having more "things"--its about EVERYONE being assured they are considered valuable as human beings!
