The Democratic Party is doing to itself what happened in 1948 - the unnatural alliances of Dixiecrats, Cold War Centrists, and Left Progressives is coming apart, again. Unfortunately, Obama is not turning out to be the unifying figure he was during the campaign - he's governing too far to the Right-Center to succeed as the leader of the Democratic Party.

Obama may get narrowly re-elected in 2012, but the Congressional majority looks more and more likely to shift hands. Nothing will get done. This country is truly f-cked.
