My Wish for Today

And for always...

That we pursue the paths to peace and reconciliation with all nations, all peoples...

For we have suffered under the Machines of War too much, for far too long...

And the precious resources that have been given so freely to those who would wage those wars would have helped make our world a much better place...

Better and more readily available health care...

Better schools, with truly qualified teachers who are eager to teach, not to the test, but to the student...

Better infrastructure, so the bridges and other structures that enable us to be where we need and want to be are safe, truly safe...

So we would enjoy clean air and water, and enough of it...

There are so many ways that the money given to the omniverous war machine could have made our world a more beautiful and safe place...

But we have spent that treasure, willingly or not, and so we suffer with its loss.

As I cross the boundary into another year on this planet...this is my wish, however foolish or unrealistic it may be...
