Once again, she quoted anonymous power brokers on the left (Who?). She certainly did not name Reid or Durbin. As far as we know, it may be anybody. It was what these two people wanted. Nobody said the policy was adopted.

I have no clue whether Jane Hamsher's source is more valid than Maddow's, but certainly, people jumped the shark on Maddow's comment if they considered it was a done deal.
