And the president gave a great speech. I watched all of it and it seems to me having started from a compromised position, taking single payer off the table at the beginning, what we wind up with is a gift to the insurance companies. Why do we have to guarantee business to these companies? Think of all the hoops other firms have to jump through in order to get government help.

What we end up with is a bunch of complicated rules and not much help for us for another four years. I'll keep calling my congress critters and hoping for the best, but I am not optimistic about what will come out of this round.
