We'll see if I hear back. His site says they'll leave it up to the teachers. I think parents should ask to be informed on Monday what their teachers decision will be. We'll learn a lot about teachers' political affiliations next week I guess.

People who want their children to be allowed to hear that president, should keep them home that day and let them hear it at home. Seems to me that if they have teacher who would deprive them of something that one day will be a historical moment for them to remember, spending time at home or anywhere else would be far more beneficial.

Too bad there isn't time for parents to get together and arrange for their friends' children to watch it together, together with film of the children's reaction. And that would be a memorable day for those kids.

I mentioned in my email that I am a teacher and don't remember any controversy over Bush speaking to school children. I asked if this was a new policy and if so, could they please explain the reasons for it. I doubt I'll hear back, but the more objections they get, the better imo.
