Little Girl's Cat Attacks Would-be Child Rapist

In Lansing, Michigan in 2002, a little girl's cat saved her from a would-be rapist. The 7-year-old girl was on unfamiliar neighbor Wulfrido Lopez's lawn holding her cat when he lured her into his home, cat and all. Lopez duct-taped the girl's mouth,

but when he tried to remove her pants, the cat sprang into action. The surprise cat scratch disarmed Lopez long enough to allow the little girl to escape. Lopez was later charged with assault with intent to penetrate, kidnapping and child enticement.

WAAY.TV reported Tuesday on the heartwarming story of a dog named Deja from Huntsville, Alabama who recently saved a wheelchair-using neighbor's life. When Ray Worrilow's house caught fire, he fell from his wheelchair twice trying to flee

the fire. His strength depleted, Worrilow despaired of escaping the fire as he lay on the floor after the second fall.

How Deja found her way into Worrilow's home is a mystery. Her owner Amy Litaker, unaware that the house was on fire, had seen Deja butting against Worrilow's door and pacing his porch moments earlier. But Deja somehow succeeded in her determination to get to Worrilow where she licked him and dragged him by his shirt, barking vehemently. With Deja for inspiration, Worrilow made a final effort to get up and out of the house before it burned to the ground.

Tommy the Cat Calls 911 for Owner in Wheelchair

Gary Rosheisen of Columbus, Ohio, who requires a wheelchair, brought home his orange tabby named Tommy in 2003. Rosheisen tried to teach Tommy to dial 911 in case of emergency, but true to his mysterious cat nature, Tommy never let on whether or not he understood the lesson. Three years later, Rosheisen fell out of his wheelchair and was unable to get himself up.
