116. Grief is fine. The 24/7 media circus, I would call exploitation.

It's one thing to announce the actual death on the top of the hour, maybe spend an hour doing a retrospective. That's within the bounds of good taste.

But nooooooo, all of the media outlets have to stop absolutely everything, the cable news channels have to become Michael Jackson Is Dead channels, babble endlessly about what might be in the autopsy lab results, and go on and on non-stop.

It's designed to gin up ratings and keep us distracted from real news about Iran, the ACES vote in the House, the debate on health care reform, Mark Sanford, etc. etc. fucking etc.

The media considers the death of one musician in Hollywood to be more important than the slaughter of thousands in Iran for the crime of dissent against their government.

I find the media's abuse of Michael Jackson's death to be downright disgusting.

Grief is OK. Exploitation is not.
