Knew I could count on you!

Here's my email to him:
Senator Daschle,

With all due respect, are you kidding? Aside from your connections to the insurance industry, can you come up with one good reason not to support single payer insurance for all of us? Your involvment in the right wing's determination to keep the rest of us from decent health care is just heart-breaking. Haven't you figured out yet that the Republican definition of "bi-partisanship" is "Democrats have to do what WE want or we'll make their lives miserable"? The concept of "equal access" is bull.... and you know it. Anyone that can afford to sit down and write a check for hundreds of dollars a month can have "access" to health care. However, a vast majority of Americans can't do that. I won't go into my tale of woe right now, but I've had experience with both private insurance and Medicare...Medicare beat the pants off our private policy.

We NEED single payer, and the argument put out just doesn't fly. On one hand, you argue that Single Payer will be so popular that private insurance won't be able to compete. Maybe if they stop paying themselves huge bonuses for failure, they'd be able to lower their rates to be competitive. On the other hand, you then argue that Single Payer will be terrible, none of us would get the health care we need, etc. Make up your minds...you can't have it both ways. Oh, and by the way, doesn't capitalism dictate that if you can't compete you deserve to go out of business?

You either need to lead, follow, or get out of the way. You don't seem willing to lead, the people you're following are heartless and greedy, so will you please just get out of the way? Stop trying to derail President Obama's pledge to us.
