Don't underestimate the need of the 'managemement class' to emotionally justify their position in life and the way they treat their employees. Fox news gives them a feel-good news niche that serves the same role to them that in earlier times the ruling class would have used 'manifest destiny,' 'social darwinism,' or 'the grand chain of being.'
Most people need to feel justified in their behavoir and broadcast those justifications as best they can.
