It used to be the same story throughout New York's Penn Station: every news and magazine shop would have one or two flatscreens with Faux up and running (the LIRR waiting room had CNN on). But this thread reminded me of something I had barely noticed, so I walked around this morning just to check:
As far as I could tell, every screen that sued to show Fox was inactive (not off, just some sort of "no input" marker). I'm through there pretty early (5-6 am)so maybe they hadn't turned it on yet, but that never stopped them before...
I'm wondering if Fox didn't pay their "play us all day" bill, so Hudson news and others stopped showing it. (I've always suspected that Fox pays many businesses for showing them in places where they effectively have a captive audience. They can write it off as advertising, and they can use it to boost their "eyeball count" to advertisers.)
The waiting room still plays CNN.
