Emergency services -- by definition - deal with people in terrible situations who are usually panicking. Panic-stricken people (especially kids, especially the first time they've been in a situation like this) are, by definition, NOT necessarily always polite and rational. That's just being human. Sorting through that and helping anyway is a big part of what the emergency services fields are all about. People who can't handle that shouldn't be doing that kind of job, because it's a matter of life and death.
