15. I think any secessionist movement will eventually have to
confront the reality of providing for not only their own needs, including their monetary structure, but also their own defense, foreign embassies, and the myriad other functions of the Feds that the right wing hotheads just never seem to think of. I'm sure some smart guy will come up with the kind of taxes Texans are going to have to start paying in order to pass themselves off as a separate country, and it's not going to be pretty.

While Texas does have lefties, they need to face the fact that nobody in the country does "tacky" like Texas, and that isn't going to win the state any popularity prizes.

Add to that the bible churches propagandizing good people to vote for hideous men like Cornyn and Delay, and you need to admit Texas has a big problem and isn't going to turn Democratic any time soon.

However, the secessionist movement isn't going to get any farther than adding up what it's going to cost.
