of this country no great change has ever occurred without protests by the American people.

I'll just say The Boston Tea Party, The Haymarket Riots, John Brown's insurrection, the suffragettes marching for the vote in 1913, the coal riots, the packing house workers demanding better working conditions and exposing the criminal ways of the meat packing industry, Martin Luther King Jr., Viet Nam, and the protest against the attack on Iraq.

We've lost our way. We've become gutless and spineless.
