36. I'm not convinced that the posters you're referring to wish to "excuse"
the bad acts in or by other nations.

I see it as more like they do not believe that we, as Americans, should have anything to say about bad acts in other places until the U.S. is pristene and pure as the driven snow (such being as they define it). Taking the "people in glass houses" canard to an illogical extreme.

Or it could be, as DH would likely say, they are merely "Blame-America-Firsters."

Irrespective, I agree with the OP.
