We're not red states and blue states, we're all one country. Of course the republican will recognize that and work with us for the betterment of the country.

Or maybe the republicans will do what they always do, which is to fiercely oppose anything they don't like.

There is no such thing as bipartisanship, there is only winning. Unfortunately the republicans seem to understand this far better than we do.
