Vayo con dios, Torquemada!

Will the late-night document release last night seal Gonzo's fate? After scrambling all day to prepare for the devastating e-mail for release, the Justice Department turned over a stack of incriminating documents that prove there were political motivations behind many of the firings. This puts to the lie Torture Boy's earlier assertions that all the firings were strictly performance-based.

A stalwart Tony Snow told reporters yesterday that the White House "hoped" Gonzales would stay and they stood firmly behind him, as they do all the criminals in their regime. But now that support inside the GOP is fast eroding He may have to follow Ashcroft, Powell, Rumsferatu, Miers, Libby, and the rest of the tainted crew out the back door . . . . onto a private jet and off to a non-extraditing foreign country.

Why is Chucklenutz clinging to this particular consigliere? Could it be because he knows Rove is about to be forced out the door, leaving him all alone in the Big Scary White House? Who knows how much longer Cheney can survive the scandals, or how long before his rotting leg finally escapes from his even more rotten body.
