The theft and assaults on the constitution will have to be massive to result in the level of revolt necessary to nonviolently shut the country down (mass strikes, mass marches, etc).

I don't know tons about it, but weren't 3-4% of the votes in 2006 switched from D to R? If that is true, then a 3-4% shift will let them win w/o actually bringing up too much antipathy. Well, not anytime soon when the margin will be 10%+ but when things settle down they can start stealing elections again.


It sounds paranoid, but what I expect to happen is not to get 2008 stolen (that would be too obvious and probably not possible anyway) but the dems to sweep everything in 2008 then sometime in 2009 we get hit again and the public starts to vote in the GOP again to 'keep them safe' because the GOP will be running on a platform that the dems wouldn't do enough about terror or wiretaps. It may not happen, but if it does I am not going to be suprised nor am I going to shout down anyone else who worries about it.
