Don't want to visit the Freepers, but I have seen this thinking before.

I've had students who claim that secularism is responsible for the Holocaust. It's apparently a very common way of teaching the Holocaust in Christian private schools.

Many "Christians" have recast the Holocaust so that it wasn't Jews who were the primary targets, but religion itself, therefore making themselves into victims. In their minds, in fact, they are more victimized than Jews, especially "secular" Jews, since they have more religion and they have the "right," or the "completed" religion, so the secularists running the Holocaust would've hated them even more. :eyes:
