5th has really changed in the last ten years. It's unrecognizable to friends who have moved away and come back!
I love it now, though. I know it's a little on the hoity toity side, but there are some really good places there for (in NYC terms) a pretty reasonable price! Smith Street and Myrtle Avenue are also restaurant meccas nearby.
