I'll admit that there have been moments when, after days of gnashing teeth over a sky high medical bill, I did have fleeting thoughts of "maybe I should have..." but thankfully they are only FLEETING thoughts. I sometimes wonder what I would have done back then if I had been in the same financial situation I am in now, but had also had a dependent or two to worry about. That's one of the reason why I try not to judge others if they do take up such an offer. It's hard to really know what another person's situation is, and sometimes people do feel forced into compromising themselves as they never imagined they would just to survive. Hopefully neither you nor I, nor anyone else here will ever have to make such a choice!
