That the ambition and drive is there to attain it in the first place. That makes one not weird or unusual. It's about obedience and cultural uniformity also. Loving and hating what others love and hate via cultural {corporate} instruction, that's the point. It's this sense of normalcy and familiarity which serves as a vehicle for the underlying psych variables.
