58. there's a lot you can do to be green
My whole take on the environmental impact thing is that if everyone did a little, no one would have to do a lot. I make sure to keep my heater turned down, unused lights off, electrical appliances I'm not using turned off, LED or florecent light bulbs. I recycle and even have a compost heap in my yard. So I guess when I get the muscle car I've always wanted, I can still feel good about my personal impact on the environment.

One other point I'll make...for hobbyists and racers alike...they keep their cars in PRISTINE condition. The engines are beautifully tuned. You love musical instruments, I love the music a perfectly tuned V-8 makes. This fine tuning keeps most of the cars in top running condition which means a lot of these machines get higher than expected gas milage. There are a lot of "high milage" older cars out there that don't get very good milage anymore because their maintinance has been neglected.
