I'm not asking people to take a pie in the sky, never use a car, approach. I need the car to get to my place of work. No subways where I live, and i work 20 miles from home. I also travel about 1 to 2 hours every 1 to 2 weeks, because I perform music, and I have to travel to gigs. I have to take equipment as well. so, I have no choice.

My attitude is: limit your usage to its bare minimum. I don't take joyrides...if I need to take of care of business, I consolidate trips and go shopping as part of one route of travel that ends at my home, etc.

I don't blame people for needing a car. I blame them for buying "non-necessity" cars (sportscars, SUVs, etc.). If they need a big car for job-related equipment, then i don't really blame them either.
