All of the Kucinich bashers see a chance to let their feelings out. To be fair, some Kucinich supporters have engaged in purity contests (I haven't so much.) But there are people who just seem to love to bash a candidate, and Kucinich isn't immune to that.
I think even Kucinich knows that he has no chance at the nomination this time. That's why he mentioned Paul so late. He wants to make a point. This is a case where I don't agree with the method, as Kucinich only played lip service to his domestic differences with Paul, acted like the pairing would work, and I'm sure he knows about Paul's racist past. But I'm not changing my vote: Kucinich it is. As I said, it's just about the idea of independent thinking that he's getting across. He could have done it differently, I know. But Kucinich still has the best proposals, and if I don't vote for him now, he might not be there in the next campaign. Kucinich knows he has a devoted, though not big, following.
