The frames then made it look like JFK's head was moving forward, as if shot from behind.

The truth, when the film finally was viewed in its entirety years later, showed JFK moving back and to the left, as if shot from in front.

PS: Dan Rather gets involved in the story, stating he got the film from Zapruder the day of the assassination and taking it directly to Kodak for processesing. Rather was among the first to view the film and also "accidently" that it showed JFK's head moving forward, as if shot from behind.
