18. What the hell happened to TLC -- The Learning Channel?
They used to have specials on implosion, the Junkyard Wars, the effects of extreme heat/cold on a person. Now it's all what not to wear, flip this house, tattoo shops. I don't have anything against mindless entertainment on occasion, but that's all they have. There are no educational shows on this channel anymore.

Today I saw another study that shows that reading in America is down. Oh really? I could not have guessed that. :sarcasm:

I sent my sister a gift subscription to Jim Hightower's Lowdown Report. It comes out once a month & is only four pages long -- it takes me about 15 minutes to read. She told me I should have saved my money cuz she doesn't have time to read. :wtf: Her husband is one of the most ignorant people I know. A year or so ago they told us they would like to relocate to Atlanta. A few weeks ago, when they were visiting, my husband mentioned the drought in Georgia & asked if they were still thinking of relocating. He had no idea about the drought. He had not heard of the superbug. But he did know what sports teams were playing that weekend.

I like to kick back & relax as much as anyone, but I also like to know what's going on in the world, not just my little corner. I know I sound like a judgemental bitch, but how are things going to change if people don't know &, more importantly, don't care what's going on?

My husband says it's denial. People only want to hear that things are going well. They don't want to face the truth that we have very serious problems & issues to address. And they certainly don't want to hear that they may have to change their comfortable life styles to make necessary changes.

Arghh!!! Somedays I wish I were blissfully ignorant. But then again, there would be this continuous little nag in my brain warning me that I should really pay attention.

Arghh! Enough. Rant off.
