55. Someone who worked for a company for 30 years
... and in fact took a bullet in service to that company deserves better than to be fired.

If she wasn't performing her management duties adequately, it is incumbent on the company to find another place in the company for which her skills are suited.

An inadequate employee isn't found out after 30 years.
