Baby Boom generation is named that because of the post war baby boom. War wasn't over in 41.

The only variation is some say it starts in 1945 and not 1946.

Demographers have Gen X ending in 1976. There was a Canadian novelist who used it to describe late baby boomers...like 1958-1964...who felt out of place, not connected to their generation.

But except in that novel Obama and I are not Gen X
