I was in Tegucigalpa during that same time frame.
I just pulled out an ID card I was given during that period -- issued by "Fuerzas Armadas de Honduras -- Fuerza de Seguridad Publica -- Comandancia General"
Basically -- its a card that insures that I don't get picked up and imprisoned by DIN, FUSEP, or any of the other armed thugs that put people into prisons if suspected of.. just about anything.
I've posted other experiences on this thread about our experiene in Honduras, including but not limited to the illegal shipments of cocaine through Palmerolla AFB... witnessed by three co-workers.
