My response was regarding the choice that we would face in the general election, as inferred by the OP.

That choice in its most basic form is: hope of getting out of Iraq in the next few years and avoiding war with Iran, or zero hope of getting out of Iraq, staying for perhaps a generation, and an undeniably higher chance of war with Iran.
