102. David Shuster crossed the line.
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 01:00 AM by bleever
There's been a line in journalism these last years, whereby the host or questioner, no matter how much the interviewee of the Republican persuasion might be distorting, cherry-picking, or outright lying to your face, still must courteously allow the Republican to continue to lie, for at least 51% of the air time, in any manner they see fit without being called on it.

Chris Matthews has been outspoken lately in not letting his guests get away with that, and Shuster did a fabulous job of that in this interview with Blackburn (who is one of the most odious practitioners of this kind of propaganda).

ed: My email:

David Shuster was right to expect an answer to a good question.

Marsha Blackburn wanted to talk about other things, but David Shuster asked specific questions about why an ad by an advocacy group is more important than the people making the sacrifice.

I applaud his ability to be forthright in his questions, and how he receives the answers that are offered.

Sincerely,

.......
