Radical Progressive Agenda To Stop War

okay, I realize that this is radical and that most Dems would never support it (except maybe Boxer, Kucinich, Conyers, Woolsey and a few others) but why could the dems not vow to block all future legislation and shut down the government until the war is ended? We don't have the votes to impeach or pass a binding resolution but this would certainly get the ball rolling. I wish we had a more radical political sense in this country. If any Western European country were in the situationw e are now...there would be strikes in the streets daily.
