88. private citizens vs public figures
While I agree that private citizens deserve protection, some of us in local communities may want to check up on people who are public figures now but not when they worked in Washington. So the national media might miss these folks. For instance, the Chairman of the CA Republican Party spent 7 years in DC working at various right-wing think tanks. Some of the crooks and lobbyists in San Diego (including defense contractors who bribed Duke Cunningham) also spent time in DC.

Vetting the list too closely would prevent the public from checking and finding out just what our local characters were up to in DC.
