3. This Isn't Even Good Tap-Dancing...
The manchild is looking for a new diversion...kicking the can again with new lipstick on the same pig. With Malaki's "government" not able to meet his own deadlines and the "base" getting skittish, he's gonna reshuffle the deck chairs on this Titanic so it stays afloat until 1/20/09...and then after that, he doesn't give a shit.

A couple slights of hand to watch here. First, is the number of troops "withdrawn" and where. Will this be 10,000 re-deployed in Iran Kuwait or the withdrawls are set for six or eight months down the road. Also, that the troops withdrawn are replace by 200k a year contractors who will continue the dirty war that imperils the regular military.

Boooshie knows he's gotta throw a bone to keep enough votes in the Senate to block defunding. This half-hearted gesture is a balloon to see if the "base" will accept this diversion and then play it up in the corporate media as some sign of "flexibility". It's a total sham....but what else would you expect?
