188. You know, I really do want an iPhone...
I've never been a fan of knee-jerk consumerism. I'm an intelligent, free-thinking guy and most commercials make me laugh or puke depending on their level of intelligence insulting. But I've always been a fan of modern technology. After researching this iPhone, I am really fascinated by it's user interface and functionality. It does some really nice things from a navigation standpoint too. I've always wanted a GPS because I'm terrible about getting lost when traveling. The iPhone seems like an all-in-one solution to realistic situations that I could see myself in. Slick marketing? Maybe. Practicality? I think so. Affordability? Not yet. I think I'll wait a year or so until the bugs are worked out. I've got another year on my Verizon contract anyway. I think the price will eventually come down to reality levels. Remember the Razor phone? It was something like $400.00 when they first came out. I saw one advertised the other day for $29.00! I know that Apple is a giant corporation, and usually that scares me. But I see them pushing the envelope of technology in ways that other companies just aren't getting. They are inventing things to simplify life a little, and get us closer to the Star Trek generation. I won't bash them for it.
