100. You seem a big hot under the collar

The discussion centers around conspicuous consumption. The good folks at Apple aren't making I-Phones for folks like you, but it seems as if the device meets your needs - good for you. In your case it probably is a wise purchase to make, as you have explained.

What fascinates me (from a sociological standpoint, if nothing else) are the legions of folks who will buy it simply because it is "new! improved! smaller! faster! better!", etc. The belief that somehow this is a better allocation of resources (i.e. time saving) is funny to me. That is the gist of what Donna and I are saying.

I used to be where you are - running around, twelve devices in one hand, phone in the other. Then it occurred to me that what I needed was not to combine 12 devices into one, but get rid of the devices altogether.

The I-Phone is just another yoke, albeit in a smaller package, which of course gives one room now to get even more devices. THAT'S what makes those boys smile.

Oh, BTW, I'm not in advertising (I'm far too honest) but to say that those folks don't look at consumers like dollar bills is ludicrous. I did have to hang around with them for prolonged periods of time in a former life, but please don't count me amongst them.

Do you play golf? Play 18 with them - you'll get the gist.

Animals.
