My video 80g iPod is great and gives a good picture on my TV 34' HD (belkin AV stand), educational college courses, music, books, computer backup etc. it was well worth the money I paid. I don't use a cell-phone but have now a VOIP phone and no land line.

If I were you, I think it would be a great choice and would stand in line on the 28th because it will be sold out.
Rumors are cheaper iPhones are on their way and pay as you go will be available. You will be lucky to get one.

I do hate ATT, when I had and needed my cell phone I dropped them and joined cingular.
