I have a friend who was given a staph infection when he had heart surgery. The doctors neglected it and it got so bad his health is totally destroyed except somehow he's still alive. He couldn't work and couldn't get medicaid benefits even though his family is totally poor -- has no assets. Not sure how that works, but he couldn't get care. Nor could he sue for negligence that caused the condition because of the healthcare laws that the Repubs instituted under sieg heil Bush.
