I've lived in both places and the biggest difference between NH and FL is...

FL...The type of republicans running the state are religious right, civil war never ended racist type republicans.
NH...Republicans are mostly nutty about keeping government small and taxes low.

The free staters have valid arguments about lower taxes and less government. But then again, I support publicly financed campaigns, where the libertarians, socialists, greens, democrats and republicans all get equal money and media time to sell their ideas. I may be a democrat, but I like new ideas too.
