of a president, I cannot blame the non-existense of adequate deep-sea technology for fixing this quickly on him. This is lack of Congressional oversight, and Bush administration, illustrated graphically. Obama lucks out, even though he has been appointing the same folks, and promoting the same policies THIS predictable result, began before Obama's watch. I have no confidence that the President will do what is necessary to ensure this doesn't happen again.

All I know for sure is that whatever the weak-assed legislative response is, it will be called Historic Deep Sea Drilling Reform, the minority party and lobbyists will write over half of it, and Oil companies will benefit.
