I think they know exactly what they're doing, and that's anything to disrupt, destroy or derail serious debate or legislation beneficial to anyone other than themselves. In the context of things Wilson certainly looked and sounded stupid, but he did manage to make one of the GOPs talking points -- illegal aliens -- a national topic and planted seeds of doubt in those that are the truly stupid and gullible.
