7. The most important time to challenge is NOW, and his campaign is not doing it
Fighting attacks against him isn't the same as fighting attacks against US, the people of this nation.

If the massive attacks on democracy that are going on right now are not seriously addressed, by election day it may well be too late. We're talking millions of people who will not get to exercise their right to vote. Then on election day, approximately 95% of the votes will be counted by electronic voting machines running secret software such that even honest election officials will have no idea if the vote counts are accurate. And Karl Rove working for Faux "News," poised to call the election for McCain. We have all sorts of dirty tricks being set in place, including discrediting of the exit polls that are really the ONLY means of flagging corrupt elections where votes are cast on e-voting machines and there's no actual evidence of how the voters voted. So even if Obama DOES challenge the election AFTER it takes place, the only remedy at that point might be a repeat election. And how likely do you think that is?

So we need to get Obama's attention on this issue now. His campaign has, to my knowledge, filed ONE lawsuit regarding voter suppression. This is a start, but not a fast enough or strong enough start. The "silly piece of paper" is a way to waken his campaign to the need for attention to election integrity. And an easy way we can all tell him we expect no less. The elections rightly belong to the voters, not to the candidates.

Standing For Voters calls on candidates to take action NOW to protect the election, not just after the fact.
