1. This was especially thrilling for me to see, one of the reasons being I wasn't
born yet! I do remember as a child coming home from school one day and finding my mother at the ironing board crying her heart out. (Mother was not a cryer) FDR had died. The nation truly mourned and the Atwater Kent radio was tuned into the news covering his funeral. This generation had gone through the depression and for many, had it not been for his works and programs, would have starved. They truly were the "greatest generation" and FDR was symbolic of that. Thank you so much for posting. It brought back some great memories.
