The mayor of Surrey BC (part of Metro Vancouver) invited self-confessed war criminal George W Bush to address an upcoming economic conference to take place in her fair city in the fall of this year. Some Canadian activists organized a demonstration at the Surrey city hall to explain to the the mayor and law enforcement authorities that, should he set foot in Canada, under Canadian law George Bush must be arrested for war crimes. One of the participants in the demo was native rights activist Splitting the Sky, who was himself arrested in a previous attempt to perform a citizens arrest on GWB while GWB was in Calgary AB on a speaking engagement.
