Reply #18: I doubt he means what he says regarding our industry vis a vis China

Had a conversation with 2 co-workers who like him for his China manufacturing rhetoric ( as well as his anti-Obama-ness ) and I'm amazed with how unread of uninformed they are and were.

On that issue I agree and think that having everything made in China rather than here was/is/will be the most corrosive influence we in this country face. I posed questions to them though: Do they or did they know that it's corporate america that is so solidly behind our de-industrialization? Do they honestly believe, that even if Trump did truly believe what his position on that issue, that he would actually use the bully pulpit to push it?...and...have the horsepower to overcome the giant corporo-political machine that's determined to keep things as they are? Don't they know the whole free-trade bit is a solid cornerstone of the GOP's platform? Granted, the mainstream position of this issue of the Democratic party isn't much better, but at least they're not fielding an absolute whacko as a candidate.

My basic position is he's just telling economic populists what they want to hear and he'll shit on them once he's in power. It's all part of the broader strategy of building a loose coalition of; working class people who vote against their interests, lunatics ( birthers, warmongers, fundies ) et al, to add to the plutocrats he's already got in his hip pocket.
