from someone familiar with the culture and experienced with the nautical dynamics. As former Navy, I thought this made a lot of sense - with or without the colorful language.

Over the past week, I have felt that neither the government nor BP knows what they're doing vis a vis appreciating and therefore mitigating the existing or looming environmental/ecological holocost. In BP's case, I trust that they are trying to salvage as much petroleum as possible while waging an aggressive PR campaign. Remediating the damage is questionable. I also doubt that the government and BP are being honest with the public.

Consequently, I find the monologue here (despite my burnt ears) totally credible and educational. Its value is just that a perspective from outside of corporate America.
