4. A completely stupid commentary.
First of all, I just love the bigotry of continuously using a southern accent to imply stupidity. Maybe next he could do a piece of gay rights and use a lisp, or a piece on racial issues and toss in some ebonics.

Secondly, Mr. Malloy, as do many other anti-firearm folks, continuously says, "We don't want your guns!" ("but we want your women").

I could not follow the point of "wanting your women", but in any case firearm owners are rightfully concerned about their second amendment rights given President Obama's and the Democratic Party's past record concerning firearms legislation and also the President's stance on www.change.gov under urban policy (it is still there) and the same passage was on www.whitehouse.gov until a few months after the election, when it was quietly removed:

http://change.gov/agenda/urbanpolicy_agenda/

"They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent. "

Firearm bans are also part of the Democratic Party Platform:

http://www.democrats.org/a/party/platform.html

"We can work together to enact and enforce commonsense laws and improvements – like closing the gun show loophole, improving our background check system, and reinstating the assault weapons ban, so that guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists or criminals."

Now Mr. Malloy is quite correct that the legislative tide is definitely going in a pro-firearm-rights direction lately, and has been for some years now. But it is highly disingenuous to mock firearms-rights proponents as having unfounded fears when firearm bans were part of President Obama's running platform and are still part of the Democratic Party Platform. Firearm owners are simply taking the people currently in power at their words.

Further, Mr. Malloy is entirely out of line for calling law-abiding firearm owners "transparently stupid" and "candy asses" because they choose to obey the law! Here we have a group of people engaged in lawful political protest and Mr. Malloy wants to call them out because their rage has not yet risen to the point where actual bullets are flying?!?

I suggest that Mr. Malloy had best be careful what he wishes for. Civil wars are ugly, brutal, catastrophic things and not something to be mocked or taken lightly. He should be thankful that firearm owners are still constrained within the law.
